Reading and writing go hand in hand as complementary skills that students need to master as they mature. While a focus centered on reading instruction is clearly warranted, the use of writing to cement and transfer the learning will yield a greater positive effect than reading alone. These Tenets will support students in learning to write clearly, express themselves with intentionality, and communicate effectively with their targeted audience.
