This session equips general and special education teachers with a clear understanding of IDEA requirements regarding school discipline practices, specifically pertinent to students with disabilities, through scenario-based discussions and practical strategies to ensure compliance while effectively managing student behavior. Participants will explore proactive, research-based approaches to reduce exclusionary discipline and promote inclusive, equitable practices in their schools and classrooms. By the end of this session, participants will have the knowledge and strategies needed to ensure compliance while creating a supportive, equitable learning environment where all students can thrive.
