This session will give an overview of models-based teaching practices in the Physical Education setting, highlighting the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) and Sport Education models being practiced globally by upper elementary and secondary teachers. TGFU and Sport Ed models help maximize student engagement and focus on a holistic approaching to learning elements and knowledge for game success rather than the traditional sole focus of motor skill acquisition.
